Michter's Distillery LLC en Cooper & Barrel BV kondigen deze week een distributieovereenkomst aan voor de Nederlandse markt. Cooper & Barrel zal per direct dienen als de exclusieve distributeur van Michter's bekroonde serie Amerikaanse whiskey in Nederland. Joseph J. Magliocco, Michter’s CEO kijkt uit naar de samenwerking met het team van Cooper & Barrel: “De hoge inzet op kwaliteit in elk aspect van dit bedrijf maakt Cooper & Barrel de ideale partner voor de toekomstige ontwikkeling van Michter's in Nederland".

After the repeal of Prohibition, the distillery reopened and changed hands many times over the next few decades.  During the 1950s, Lou Forman, one of the distillery’s then-owners, created the modern Michter’s brand name by combining portions of his sons’ names – Michael and Peter.

In 1989, with the entire American whiskey industry suffering a prolonged downturn, Michter’s then-owners declared bankruptcy and abandoned the Michter’s trademark.  In the 1990s, Joseph J. Magliocco and his mentor Richard Dick Newman teamed up to resurrect the Michter’s brand in Kentucky.

Michter's whiskeys are globally recognized for their excellent quality, having been proclaimed “Best of the Best” by Robb Report, named “Best American Whiskey” by Food & Wine, and awarded “Distiller of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast.
